Wm. O. Markham, age 78 years 5 months and 18 days, died at his home 11 miles northwest of Colville on Wednesday. His wife had preceded him in death several years ago. He was born in Ellington, N.Y., and had resided in Stevens county for 10 years. He was buried May 25 at Meyers Falls, with Quinn W. McCord as funeral director.

Wm. Markham died at the home of his son B.J. Markham Wednesday morning at 5:30. Mr. Markham has been a resident of this community for the past 13 years, with the exception of 2 years which he spent visiting in California, South Dakota and New York. He was an honest, upright man and highly respected by all who knew him. He leaves and aged wife, 75 years old, on son B.J. Markham of this palace and a daughter Mrs. Harry Parkhurst of Jamestown, N.Y. The bereaved family have the deepest sympathy of the entire community. The funeral was held from the home Thursday at 2 o'clock p.m., conducted by Rev. Stayt of Kettle Falls. Burial was at Meyers Falls cemetery.
