Sgt. ROBERT J. HENRY

LAS VEGAS, Nev. - Sgt. Robert J. Henry, 21, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter J. Henry of 1215 Smoke Tree Ave., Las Vegas, a great grandson of the late Homer Rudd, who lived many years in the Bennington area, was killed by an artillery shell fired by another American unit on April 25 in Vietnam.
The Army Sergeant was a grandnephew of Mrs. Harry (Belle) G. Breese of Bennington. His mother was the former Catherine Van Riper, and his maternal grandmother was the former Lillie Rudd, daughter of Homer. Mr. Rudd was a resident of Gardena, Calif. for many years and died there in the early 1950s. His great grandson had been reared in Gardena.
