A native of Spartanburg County; the daughter of the late John Holland Aiken (1879-1928) and Addie Florence Rhodes Aiken (1890-1953); widow of James McNeely Amaker (1911–1974).
A retired surgical technician from Spartanburg Regional Medical Center after 30 years and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include her sons, Ranson Maxie Amaker (1947–2021), Chuck Amaker, and Jessie Amaker; daughters, Betty A. Solesbee and Janice L Amaker (1937–2010); sister, Louise Aiken Hefner (1924-2010); eleven grandchildren; and eighteen great-grandchildren.
Also was preceded in death by a son, James Leon Amaker (1938–2000); and sister, Bertie Rebecca Aiken Farmer.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 pm, Monday, December 1, 2003, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, conducted by Pastor Frank H. Bryant; burial in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
