Jennie Elizabeth Samsa, 104, of Chisholm, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2009, at Heritage Manor Health Care Center in Chisholm. She was born April 13, 1905, in Kitzville, to John and Johanna (Kosir) Bizal.


She resided in Kitzville until her marriage to Ludwig Adamic in 1924 when they moved to Chisholm.


Jennie worked for Cluett Peabody in Virginia for many years. She was an exceptional cook and baker, who was extraordinarily known for catering the Slovenian National Home and various other facilities for a variety of banquets, wedding receptions and the Chisholm All Class Reunions.


She was also best known for her potica and strudels. She married Albert Samsa in 1974. She was a member of the Slovenian National Home, Slovenian Women's Union, Club 9, KSKJ, American All Slovenian Association, Women of the Moose and the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW.


Jennie is survived by 14 grandchildren: Eugene "Robbie" Erbstoesser, Michael Erbstoesser, Janelle Gorman, Gary Erbstoesser, Andrew Ludwig Adamic, Amy L. Meisser, Audrey L. Adamic, Cheryl A. Samsa, Michelle L. Bell, Amy J. Samsa, Bert Samsa, Robin Bettisworth, Sharon Thies and Jay Samsa; 16 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.


She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ludwig Adamic in 1964; second husband, Albert Samsa in 1998; daughter, Eleanor Erbstoesser; sons: Eugene Ludwig Adamic, Jerry Samsa and Albert R. Samsa; brothers: Stanley, William, Frank and John Bizal; sisters: Mary Pucel and Ann Wallack; and grandson, Mike Samsa.


Interment in Chisholm Cemetery.
