Resident of Northwest of Waterloo Passed Away at Home of Her Sister in Flint, Mich.


Funeral services for Miss Mildred DeLong of northwest of Waterloo. who died suddenly Tuesday morning at the home of her sister in Flint, Mich., will be conducted. at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Ettinger funeral home at Waterloo. She was 56.

Her body was found about 7 a.m. Tuesday by her sister, Mrs. Helen Chism of Flint. She had been dead three or four hours. M

iss DeLong lived alone on her farm six miles northwest of Waterloo during the summer months but for the past several winters had lived with her sister.

She was a native of the community northwest of Waterloo, born Dec. 12, 1896, daughter of Marion and Tillie Whittig DeLong. Miss DeLong was a lifelong resident of DeKalb county.

Her mother preceded her in death 13 years ago. Her father died in 1940. Sole survivor is the sister in Flint.

She was a member of the Showers Corners Evangelical United Brethren church.

The body was returned late Tuesday night in the Ettinger funeral car to the Ettinger funeral home where it will remain for Thursday's rites. Officiating at the services will be the Rev. Frank L. Engle, pastor of the church at Showers Corners and the First EUB church at Waterloo. Burial will be in the Sedan cemetery at Sedan.
