July 6, 1887; son of Harvey and Nancy R. (Stone) Coit, a daughter of Capt. John Stone of Worthington, Mass. Lucy Amanda was a teacher before marriage in Worthington, Mass., and later in a Dutch Reformed School at Newburgh, N. Y., where she lived in the family of Rev. Mr. Ten Eyck. Dwight S. Coit was a merchant, a member of the firm of H. Coit & Company of Columbus, Ohio.
