Arthur J. Schaeffer, 75, of Emmaus, died Saturday in his home. He was the husband of Pauline M. (George) Schaeffer. They would have been married 54 years on Thursday.
Schaeffer owned and operated the former Schaeffer's Fruit Market, Allentown, for many years before retiring in 1986. Previously, he worked for his father at the former Schaeffer Contracting Co., Allentown.
Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late William M. and Rosa M. (Mohr) Schaeffer.
He was a member and a former elder and Sunday schoolteacher of Cedar Crest Bible Fellowship Church, Allentown.
Survivors: Wife; daughters, Carolyn A., wife of Richard L. Willitts of Lancaster, and Adell P., wife of Donald Anthony of Downingtown, Chester County; brother, Howard E. of Whitehall Township; sister, Mrs. Annie M. McCann of Breinigsville, and four granddaughters.
Services: 7 p.m. today in the church. No calling hours. Arrangements, J.S. Burkholder Funeral Home, Allentown.
