The following is by Connie (Cross) Krueger. After finding a couple of old negatives of my fathers military records I added to what was the obit and corrected mistakes I had made prior.

Leslie Allen Cross, 80, a resident of Hagerman, Idaho, died Wednesday,April 28, 2004, at Magic Valley Regional Medical Center.
Leslie was born Aug. 13, 1923, in Alexandria, S.D., one of 13 children, the son of Lloyd Arley Cross and Lorraine Minnie Lamb. At the time of his death, Leslie was the only surviving son. The family moved to Presho, S.D.
Leslie had only 8 years of education, no high school or collage. He was an inducted recruit at Fort Crook, Nebraska of the Army in the 4th Coast Artillery Corp., at age 19 in 18 January 1943. Army #37 470 520. Leslie had grey eyes, dark brown hair and was 5 feet 11 inches high and at that time weighed 175 lbs. While in service he had yellow fever in November 1943. Leslie served in the Continental service for 10 months 8 days, Foreign service 2 years 1 month 7 days. His metals he received were Sharpshooter Rifle M1903, Service Ribbon, Good Conduct metal, AR600-68, and a Victory metal. He served as a Private 1st Class in Mineral Wells, Texas, New Orleans and the Panama Canal. Leslie was honorably discharged from the service at Fort Hill, Utah on 9 January 1946 (filed 24 June 1946). Leslie married Carma Stapley on June 14, 1947, in Boulder City, Clark County, Nevada. Leslie and Carma were long-time residents of Westminster, California then later Hagerman, Idaho. Leslie was baptized in 1952 to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and later on he was an active member and held various offices and responsibilities until the time of death. Carma proceed him in death on 15 October 2002. Leslie is survived by three children, Allen Randy Cross, Larry Arlen Cross and Connie Lee (Cross) Krueger.
Service was held at 11 a.m. on Monday May, 3, 2004, at The Hagerman Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with Bishop Mike Owsley officiating. Family and friends viewed from 10 a.m. to service time on Monday at the church. Services was under the direction of Demaray's Gooding Chapel.

I have found a few old negatives that I will be getting developed and posted soon.
One is his discharge papers I think, as they are too small to read.
