"The old Wayman General store in Hyde Park changed hands last week ... Originally built in 1892 by the late Charles Morrell Augur of Hartwick Seminary on the farm lands bought from Henry Winsor, which included what is now known as the Kilts-Strong farm operated by Arthur Collier, all the lumber used in the large frame structure was obtained from the timber lot on the farm. Mr. Augur built the place for his son, the late Morris Augur, who with a Mr. Tilly operated the general store for many years under the firm name of Tilly and Augur. Upon Charles Augur's death it was found that the property had been willed to his daughter, Mrs. Adeline Burnside who subsequently sold the business to Mr. and Mrs. Bert Wayman, who were the successful operators of the store for many years up until about 1930 ..."
