Gary Lee Porter, 58, of Greenville, passed away Wednesday, June 20, 2012, from his residence after a short illness.

Born July 13, 1953, in Logan County, he was a son of Noraleen Walls Fryer and her husband, Lee Fryer, of Memphis, Tenn., and the late Finnie Cecil Porter.

Also preceding him in death were two brothers, Paul David Porter and Roger Neal Porter.

Gary was a retired school bus driver, formerly employed with the Logan County Board of Education.

Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife of 33 years, Dorothy "Tootsie" Ellis Porter; one daughter, Jennifer Lynn Cline and her husband, Ty, of Lexington, N.C.; two cherished grandchildren, Haleigh Cline and Ayden Cline, both of Lexington; one brother, Greg Obrien of Memphis, Tenn.; one sister, Kimberly Hill of Memphis; four nieces; one nephew, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Saturday, June 23, at the Greenville Freewill Baptist Church at Greenville with the Rev. Baxter Toler officiating. Private burial will follow at a later date.
