Janice Evelyn Brown McPherson, 91 a native Atlantan who lived in the Emory-Druid Hills Community for sixty years, died May 30 at Peachtree Hospice following a long illness. She was a gifted artist, specializing in china painting and was a member of the Emory Hospital Auxillary, the Lions Club Auxillary, Oak Grove United Methodist Church, the Joy Sunday School Class, the Koinonia Circle and the Princeton Way Civic Association. She was predeceased by her husband, Harry Lee McPherson and is survived by two daughters, and sons-in-law, Janice and Bruce Broadhurst of Sandy Springs, Harriet and Joe Morrow of Waco, Texas; five grandsons and spouses: Ray and Virginia White of Atlanta, Allen Ekmark, Jr. of Missoula, Montana, David Lee and Melanie Ekmark, Largo, Florida, Chris and Carrie Ekmark, Largo, Florida and Kenny Ekmark of Atlanta; one granddaughter, and husband, Jennie and Roy Kirby of Atlanta; seven great grandchildren, a special extended family of nine step-grandchildren, fifteen step-great grandchildren and three nieces. In liu of flowers, donations may be made to Oak Grove United Methodist Church, 1722 Oak Grove Rd., Decatur, 30033-1299. Funeral services will be Friday, June 1, 2001 at 3 p.m. at Arlington Chapel. Interment, Arlington Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at H. M. Patterson & Son, Arlington Chapel, 173 Allen Rd., Sandy Springs.
