Peggy was a quiet Southern lady who was devoted to her family, enjoyed embroidery, word seek puzzles, fried chicken, cooking shows, Country Music and the beach. She loved being with people and she spread happiness with her smile.
Peggy was the widow of William F. Manning Jr. who died October 3, 1972.
Surviving are her daughters, Deborah L. Manning, of Roanoke, Va., Janet M. Kumpf and her husband, Michael L. Kumpf, of New Cumberland, Pa., and Kathy R. Bandy, of Roanoke, Va.; a grandson, James L. Day and his wife, Ivy M. Day; two great- granddaughters, Samantha P. Fogle and Taylor L. Day; her sister-in-law, Helen P. Stapleton; niece, Melissa Paxton; and numerous cousins.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 22, 2012, at Oakey's North Chapel. Visitation is one hour prior to service. Interment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
