Andrew G. Weber (Andy), age 96, of Reading Road, Mohnton, PA, died at the Garden Spot Retirement Village, New Holland, PA on Monday, January 21, 2008. Andrew was married to Mary H. Sensenig, his wife of 72 years, who preceded him in death. Andrew was also preceded in death by one son-in-law, one grandson, and one great grandson, along with all of his 10 brothers and sisters. Born on July 31, 1911 in Brecknock Township, Lancaster County, PA, he was the youngest of 10 children born to John Musser Weber and Elizabeth Bowman Gehman. Andrew was a lifelong member of the Bowmansville Mennonite Church where he served at various times as a Sunday School teacher, superintendent, church trustee and coordinator of the Allegheny Mennonite summer Bible school sessions. As an occupation, Andrew worked as a knitting mill machine operator in his early years until World War II when he switched careers and became a dairy/poultry farmer in Brecknock Township. Along with farming, he started a family business hatching chicks for farmers throughout the Lancaster, Berks and Lebanon County areas. Upon his retirement in the early 1960's, he and Mary enjoyed some travel to various states, Canada and Israel. Andrew took much satisfaction in being a fix-it type person who repaired household appliances and his farm equipment with much ingenuity and creativity. Having learned frugality during his early married years and the Great Depression in the 30's, he learned to make do with what he had on hand. He was devoted to his family, placed a priority in helping his children become established in farming and modeled a life of integrity and love for God. Andrew is survived by his 9 children, 31 grandchildren, 86 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. His sons and daughters are: Floyd Weber married to Salinda (Stoltzfus) of Denver, PA, Leon Weber married to Norma (Frees) of Reinholds, PA, Margaret Weber Gockley married to Glen of Mohnton, PA, Mildred Weber Horning married to Herbert of Reinholds, PA, Mae Weber Weaver married to John of Mohnton, PA, Bernice Weber Valverde married Daniel (deceased) of Mohnton, PA, John Weber married to Janet (Frey) of Ephrata, PA, Glenn Weber married to Lucy (Yoder) of Mohnton, PA, and Linda Weber Snader married to Larry of Harrisonburg, VA. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his funeral services at the Bowmansville Mennonite Church on Saturday, January 26, at 10 AM.
