She was born December 4, 1911 in Lehi, Utah to George C. and Alice Lauper Phillips. She married David W. Adamson, Jr. on September 2, 1932 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
She graduated from Lehi High School and attended LDS Business College. She enjoyed participating in plays and was noted for her dramatic readings.
She was active in the LDS Church, serving as Relief Society president and counselor in both Lehi and Salt Lake City. Other church positions included Mutual president, teacher, compassionate service, and she served at the Provo LDS Temple for over six years. She and her husband served a mission in Michigan.
Arlene was a charter member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and enjoyed her 50 year membership in the Friendship Club. She worked at Auerbach's Department Store and the LDS Distribution Center.
Survivors include her husband of 61 years, David W. Adamson of Lehi; one son, David P. (Alice Jean) Adamson, Pleasant Grove; three daughters, Clarene (Donald) Myrup, American Fork; Diana (Rodney) Fakatou, Holladay; Linda (Larry) Hadfield, Lehi; one sister, Ada Robinson, Lehi; 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Michael Adamson, and 16 brothers and sisters.
Funeral Friday, July 22, 1994 at 11 a.m. in the Wing Mortuary Chapel, Lehi, where friends may call Thursday evening from 7-9 p.m. and Friday one hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Lehi City Cemetery.
