C. Marius Haayen Jr., 84, a resident of Thornwald Nursing Home, Carlisle, died Satuday, Feb. 24, 2007, at the nursing home.

Born May 13, 1922, in Tampico, Mexico, he was the son of the late C. Marius and Florence Muskus Haayen Sr. and the widower of Mary Ritter Haayen.

Marius was a graduate of Dickinson College where he received his bachelor of science degree. He was the senior partner in Boyer and Ritter Accounting Firm. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World Wart II. He was a member of St. Johns Episcopal Church, Carlisle, where he served as vestryman. He served on the boards for the Carlisle Hospital, the Salvation Army and Samaritan Fellowship.

Surviving are one daughter, Mary Ginder (and husband, Wayne) of Carlisle; one grandson, Andrew Haayen Ginder of Colonial Park.

He was preceded in death by one son, C. Marius "Rocky" Haayen III, and a brother, Richard Haayen.

A memorial services will be held 11 a.m., Friday, March 2, at St. John's Episcopal Church, on the Square, Carlisle, with the Rev. Cannon Mark A. Scheneman officiating. The burial will be held at the convenience of the family at Ashland Cemetery, Carlisle. There will be no viewing or visitation.
