He born in the industrial city of La Salle, Streator, Ill. where he was one of five children including Walter Marion Aker, who served in Spanish American War, Ada Mae Aker Longnecker, William E who served for WWI, Francis Theodore Jr for WWI and Donald Ludlow Aker who served in WWI.
