Harold Stephen "Steve" Bailey of El Dorado, formerly of Eureka, died on Friday, June 22, 2012 at his home in El Dorado at the age of 67.

He was born on September 30, 1944, in Eureka, the son of Harry E. and Barbara (Lawman) Bailey. He was raised in Eureka and graduated from Eureka High School. After his schooling, he moved to Wichita and began working for Beech Aircraft, later Raytheon. He eventually returned to Eureka before retiring in 2005 after 42 years at Raytheon.

On September 3, 2005, Steve was united in marriage to Rose Voelcker in Eureka. They made their home in Eureka before moving to El Dorado in 2006 due to Steve's health.

He is survived by his wife, Rose of the home; one son, Christopher Bailey of Emporia; and one daughter, Carrie Ferran of Wichita; two step-children, Ann Peeples Kern of South Carolina; and Charlie Peeples of El Dorado; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Diane Grundy of Climax; and Jill Bailey of Eureka. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Tony Bailey.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, June 25, 2012 at Greenwood Cemetery, in Eureka, with Pastor Kevin Lawrence of the Climax United Methodist Church officiating. Visitation hours are from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Monday at Koup Family Funeral Home, which is in charge of service arrangements.
