Daryl Dean Lewis, 58, of Lucasville died Friday, June 22, 2012, at SOMC Hospice.

He was born June 5, 1954, in Portsmouth, a son of the late John Thomas and Joan Murray Ayers.

Daryl was a corrections officer with the Southern Ohio Correctional Facility, attended Center Street United Methodist Church and a 1973 Valley High School graduate.

He is survived by his wife, Connie Riggs Lewis, who he married Dec. 14, 2007, in Minford; one son, Jeremiah (Debra) Lewis of Portsmouth; one step-daughter, Nakosha (Aaron) Bobst of Minford; 2 grandchildren, Kalyn Lester and Reagan Lester; five brothers, John "Tom" Lewis Jr. of Florida, Bob Lewis of Lucasville, Dave Lewis of McDermott, and Don Lewis of Lucasville.

He was also preceded in death by one brother, Phillip Lewis.

Funeral services will be conducted at noon, Thursday, June 28, 2012, at the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville, with Phil Howard officiating. Burial will follow in Scioto Cemetery on Cockrell's Run. Friends may call 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and an hour before the funeral Thursday.
