Born 29 Feb 1852 in Lautzkirchen, Saarland, Germany to Georg Michael Christ and Louisa Maria Loetscher. He was baptized in Kirkel-Neuhausel on 7 Mar 1852 in the Lutheran Church, and was married to Helena Schneider in 1875.

He arrived in the port at Castle Garden on 23 Feb 1882 on the ship Zeeland from Antwerp, Belgium. His family did not arrive until October of that year.
He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Turbotville, Northumberland County, PA from 1883-1890. The family relocated to Maryland for a short time, then returned to Bucks County, PA, where he died of "chronic nephritis."
Obituary:
On December 17,1928 of old age, at the Bucks county home, Louis W. Christ , aged 76 years, 8 months and 13 days. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Christ , and was born Febuary 29,1852, in Germany. His mother died when he was an infant. He was a member of Christ Lutheran church. He and his wife Helenia, were the parents of 7 sons and three daughters. He is survived by five sons and two daughters, also thirty grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Elbert E. Landis in Christ Union church. Interment in Trumbauersville cemetery on December 20,1928.
