Freeman Elliott "Dutch" Adams, age 83, died on December 20, 1996 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Born May 13, 1913 in Green River, UT to Henry Harrison Adams and Mary Ivan Steele. Married Winnona "Wynn" Wilkins on Dec. 12, 1947 in Salt Lake City.Retired from U.S. Treasury Department Internal Revenue Service after 34 years of service. Following his retirement he was a permanent substitute teacher at Kearns, Granger and Olympus High Schools. He built a family cabin in Bryant's Fork near Strawberry Reservoir. He loved to spend time there working, fishing and hunting. He was a avid outdoorsman and a former member of the Salt Lake Small Arms Club. After graduating from West High School, Dutch attended the University of Utah on a track scholarship graduating with a B.S. Degree in Accounting. Dutch held many Rocky Mountain Conference track records. He also played semi-pro baseball. He was a life time member of the Old Time Athletes Association. He served in the U.S. Army Finance Department during World War II.

He is survived by his wife; sons, John E. (Sonnie); Kenneth B.; and daughter, E. Ann Adams, Ph.D, all of Salt Lake City; four grandchildren, Aireann, Amy, Kenny and Laura.

The family would like to thank his Physician, J. Douglas Ridges, M.D. and Linda Young, R.N. at St. Marks Hospital and Premier Health Care for their special care and comfort.

Funeral services will be held 12 noon on Tuesday, December 24, 1996 in the Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 South Highland Drive where friends may call on Tuesday from 10:30-11:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to the Alzheimer's Association, 455 East 400 South, Salt Lake City, Utah.
