Mrs. Sybil Nunamaker Koon, 79, of Irmo, widow of Jacob Harley Koon, died Sunday in Bryan Center of Nursing.

Born in Lexington County, she was a daughter of the late Olin F. and Lizzie Eubanks Nunamaker . She was a member of Union United Methodist Church and a charter member of W.S.C.S. Mrs. Koon was a retired postmistress and former school teacher at Irmo Schools for several years.

Surviving are a brother, David C. Nunamaker of Branchville; two sisters Mrs. Johnnie W. (Sarah Nunamaker) Looney Sr. of Irmo and Mrs. Thelma Nunamaker Derrick of Irmo.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Union United Methodist Church conducted by the Rev. James Nates.

Pallbearers will be Dennis, Donald, Charles and Johnnie Looney Jr., Dwight and Danny Derrick and Jimmy Nunamaker.

The family suggest that those who wish may make memorials to Union United Methodist Church Building or Cemetery Fund.

Caughman-Harman Funeral Home of Lexington is in Charge.
