Mass for Antonette Carrato-Dandorph, age 91, formerly of Weehawken, was held at 9:30 a.m. Friday at St. Lawrence Church, in Weehawken, New Jersey. She died at home Monday, February 16, 2004.
Born in North Bergen, New Jersey, Antonette lived in Weehawken for 55 years before moving to Kenilworth in 2001.
She was a beautician at Dandorph's House of Beauty, North Bergen, for 60 years before she retired.
She was a member of the Weehawken Senior Citizens, the Deborah Chapter and the AARP and a member of Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary Chapter 49 of West New York.
Surviving are her husband, Edward P. Dandorph, son, Kenneth Dandorph, daughter, Debbie Dandorph-LaBruno, along with four grandchildren, Michael Dandorph, Lisa, Anthony and Nicole LaBruno and three great-grandchildren, Robert Dandorph, Lauren Dandorph and Sarah Dandorph.
Vainieri Funeral Home located in North Bergen, New Jersey, was in charge of the wake and burial.

Auntie, as Antonette was known to her nieces and nephews, worked to save money to get her younger brother and sister out of an Italian orphanage where they were placed after the untimely deaths of their parents in 1924.
She remained a role model for them and surrogate mother figure for them for the rest of their lives.
