Author. She was a nationally known hymn writer and was published in many hymnals under her maiden name, Mary P Griffin. Some of her works include, "Waiting by the River," "LaBelle Ohio" and "Away with the Wine-Cup" (a Temperance Rally song). She spent her married life in Boston, Massachusetts where she was active in both home and foreign missionary work. Mary was a devoted Bible student for 90 years and taught Ladies Bible Class for 25 years. She spent her last 36 years in Evansville, Indiana where she lived with her daughter, Helen Davidson.
