"Mabel E. Shelly, 81, of Canadensis, formerly of Allentown, died Friday in Stroud Manor, East Stroudsburg. She was the wife of the late Earl Shelly.
She was a dressmaker in many mills in the Lehighton area.
Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late James and Ellen (Walters) Gildner.
Survivors: Daughters, Shirley Quinn of Philadelphia, Doris Williams of Orefield, Nancy Duquette of Canadensis, Verna Strohl of Lehighton, Rita Mensinger of Coplay, Lana Hunsberger of Treichlers, and Carol Moyer and Peggy Peltz, both of Allentown; son, Thomas of Walnutport; sister, Clara Healy of Allentown; 36 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandson. She was predeceased by sons, Earl Jr. and Dole.
Graveside services: 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jerusalem Cemetery, Upper Towamensing Township. No calling hours. Arrangements, Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home, Stroudsburg."
