Benny graduated from Gordon Military College in Barnesville and served four years as a Marine including Vietnam. As a graduate with honors from Georgia Tech, Benny had a long career as a manager and trainer in Atlanta and Denver.

Benny is survived by his wife, Jane Hascall; daughter, Katie (AJ) Abbott Argentina; son, Matthew Abbott; step-daughter, Rebecca Hascall; granddaughter, Michaela Hascall; brothers: Jimmy (Bonny) Abbott, Danny (Phyllis) Abbott, Frank (Donna) Abbott; many nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.

Committal will take place privately at Mt. Lindo Memorial Park. A Memorial Service in Benny's honor will be held Saturday, January 31, 2009 at 11:00 am at Trinity United Methodist Church, 1820 Broadway, Denver.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Craig Hospital Foundation, 3425 S. Clarkson St., Englewood, CO 80113.
