In 1855, Mary Jane Lord, aged 28, could be found living in Fulton, Oswego, NY, with her husband, Edward Lord, aged 34, a Presbyterian Minister, born in Tompkins, NY, and children, Chester S. and Annie C. Lord. Also living in the household was Ester Besere, aged 30, and Catherine Thompson, aged 18.

In 1870, Mary J. Lord, aged 43, could be found living in Raritan, NJ, post office New Market, with her husband, Edward Lord, aged 49, and children, Chester Lord, 20, Anna Lord, 17, and Charles Lord, 10, mother-in-law, Betsey Lord, aged 81, and Bridget Griffin, domestic, aged 27.

In 1880, Mary J. Lord, aged 53, was living in East New Brunswick, Middlesex, NJ, with her husband, Edward Lord, aged 59, a minister, and children, Andrew C. Lord, aged 26, and Charles E. Lord, aged 20, both in college

In 1900, Mary Jane Lord, aged 73, born October 1826, was shown living in the village of Patchogue, Brookhaven, NY, with her husband, Edward Lord, aged 79, born March 1821, and servant, Etta Hooper, aged 27.

Obituary - Patchogue, L.I., April 10 - The funeral of Mary Jane Lord, wife of the Rev. Edward Lord, was held from her late home on Baker Street, yesterday afternoon, the Rev. C.N. Gleason officiating. Interment was in the family plot at Cedar Grove Cemetery. The deceased was the daughter of the late Anthony Saunders of Williamstown, Mass. and a descendent of the settlers of Providence, R.I., her ancestors marrying into the family of Roger Williams. Beside her husband the deceased leaves two children, Chester S. Lord, managing editor of the New York Sun and Mrs. Anna C. Merritt, wife of the Chinese missionary, Dr. C.P.W. Merritt of Clifton Springs, N.Y. Mrs. Lord died last Saturday.

And - Patchogue, April 6, Mary J.S., widow of Rev. Edward Lord, ae 75 years.
