Samuel T. Miller, 72, prominent Taylor County farmer, died suddenly of a heart attack at 7:30 a.m. last Friday at the home of his brother, John H. Miller, near Burdick. Mr. Miller was born June 10, 1876, and moved from Ohio at an early age with his parents, Elizabeth Crowe and I. K. Miller. He became an active member of the Methodist church and a successful farmer, well-known in the Burdick section and throughout the county. He was associated with his brother in farming. His father, also was well-known in this county as well as in surrounding counties. He was a farmer and dealer in fertilizer, farm fencing and equipment. Mr. Miller is survived by his wife, Mrs. Dosha Sapp Miller; a daughter, Mrs. Delious Beard of Route 5; a sister, Mrs. Clarence Gilmore, Route 4, and his brother, John H. Miller. Another daughter, Elizabeth, preceded him in death. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Sunday, January 2, at the Methodist Church, with the Rev. A. H. Gregory and W. C. Frank officiating. Burial was in Brookside Cemetery. ~The News-Journal, Thursday, January 6, 1949
