Mary Ellen Shay, 84, of Tunnelton died Monday, Aug. 2, 2004, at her residence.

She was born Dec. 26, 1919, in Kingwood, a daughter of the late Edward and Daisy Ellen DeWitt Albright.

She was a homemaker and a Protestant by faith.

She is survived by a son, William Thomas of Fairmont; two brothers, William Albright of Middleboro, Fla., and Don Albright of Morgantown; two sisters, Ruby Turner of Kingwood and Charlotte Sypolt of Independence; three grandchildren, Tom, Mark and Britney Thomas; and two great-grandchildren, Mark Thomas II and Tom Thomas II.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Glenn E. Shay; and a grandson, Jeff Thomas.

Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Clyde Gidley.
