Wilma J. Hosford, 76, went to be with her Lord at 11:25 am on Monday, February 22, 2010 at St. Claire Hospital in Alton with her family by her side.
She was born on July 20, 1933 in Alton, IL, the daughter of Johnathan I. & Bessie (Strickland) Yeager. She married Clinton "Bud" E. Hosford on January 17, 1953 in East Alton, IL. He passed away on April 18, 1983. She was a packer at Owens Illinois Glass in Alton for 32 years until her retirement in 1983. She was a member of Hearts Harvest Church in Bethalto. She loved being outside, gardening and flowers, spending time with her family and friends and most of all she loved the Lord with all her heart. She is survived by five sons and two daughters-in-law, Gary Hosford of Wood River, Kevin Hosford of Alton, Greg & Peggy Hosford of Godfrey, John Hosford of Wood River and Randy & Sharon Hosford of Alton; 14 grandchildren, Deirek & Kris Boyd, Amber Hosford, Amy Hosford, Ryan Hosford, Jermey Hosford, Sarah Lewis, Adam Hosford, Aaron Hosford, Heather Hosford, Chris Hosford, Josh Hosford, Breanna Hosford, Jessie Outhouse, and Ryan Morrow; 6 great grandchildren, Jackson, Landen, Kyden, Ashton, Alexis and Ian; her siblings and their spouses, Nolan Hubbs of Downey, CA, Logan & Alice Hubbs of Lake San Marcos, CA; Helen Rhodes of Ramsey, IL, Bruce McFadden of Laguna Hill, CA, Wylie Yeager of Downey, CA and Wanda & Gary Glover of Apple Valley, CA; a sister-in-law, Jenny Stewart of East Alton and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 brothers, 2 sisters and 2 daughters-in-law, Lori Hosford and Laura Morrow. In celebration of her life, visitation was from 4 pm to 7 pm on Thursday, February 25, 2010 at Hearts Harvest Church, 111 Sheridan, in Bethalto. Funeral services were at 1 pm on Friday, February 26, 2010 at the church. Pastor Terry McKinzie officiated.
