Patsy Dianne Ford died peacefully June 18, 2012 at home with her family by her side. She was born to Eual "Boe" and Pearl Ford on September 3, 1948. She grew up in Live Oak, CA, and graduated from Live Oak HS. She earned a BA in English and a Teaching Credential from Chico State University and went on to teach almost 30 years in the Grass Valley School District and at Grass Valley Charter School in Grades K-5. She was honored to be selected as a Master Teacher and as Nevada County Teacher of the Year in 1989. From childhood she had a fascination with Japan and interrupted her teaching in Grass Valley to teach for 4 years at the American School in Japan, Tokyo.

She enjoyed hiking, gardening, drawing and cooking, world travel, and most of all celebrating her close relationships with great food. Everyone remembers Patsy's warm and welcoming smile, that safe place for friendship and love that elicited the best of everyone whether student, friend or loved one. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Patsy was predeceased by her mother, Pearl Ford; father, Boe Ford; brother, Leon Ford; and husband, Bill Davison. She is survived by her husband, Dan Bibelheimer of Nevada City; step-children, Sean Davison (Mark Luellen) of San Francisco, CA, Abbie Davison Kelly (Kevin) of Chicago, IL, Erik Bibelheimer (Andrea) of Auburn, CA, Annie Bibelheimer-Dieng (Oumar) of Emeryville, CA, and Jode Yaksic (Meighan Shaughnessy) of Healdsburg, CA; grandchildren, Molly, Carys, Tim, and Miles; brothers, and sisters, Stan Ford of Yuba City, Carole Conner (Bob) of Lodi, Vicki (Larry) Shubat of Canton, Ohio, and Eddie (Terri) Ford of Yuba City; and many nieces and nephews.

We extend our deepest gratitude to the many who have carried us through this journey: Drs. Bill and Chris Newsom, Dr. Jill Fitzpatrick, Dr. David Kraus, the staff at Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital and Cancer Center in Grass Valley; the team at Hospice of the Foothills and Dr. René Kronland; Dr. David Gandara and Dr. Ruben Fragoso and their staff at UCD Cancer Center Sacramento; Patsy's "Sistuhs" who shared their cancer journey and gave her tail-lights to follow through the darkness; and the many around the world who have provided their love and support.

According to Patsy's wishes, there will be a private memorial later this summer. In her honor a memorial stone will be placed at Sierra Memorial Lawn in Nevada City.
