Ruth Lee Madsen Burt, 77, died peacefully on August 3, 2004, due to complications of Alzheimer's Disease. She was born on October 6, 1926 in Hinckley, Utah to LaFayette Cox and Augusta Pearl Mortensen Lee. She married Richard W. Madsen, III (deceased) on November 1, 1946 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She married Verl W. Burt, August 4, 1994, in Salt Lake City. Ruth was a loving mother, wife, grandmother, and friend. She was a dedicated member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many positions throughout her lifetime. She is survived by her husband, Verl; children, Richard Lee (Susan) Madsen of Salt Lake City, Robert Sterling (Candace) Madsen of Payson, UT, Daryl (Greg) Eatough of Kissimee, FL, Marcy (Bob) Gregg of Moorpark, CA, Michael William Madsen of Payson, UT; step-children, Danna (Bruce) Nelson of West Jordan, UT, Debbie (Ren) Boyce of St. George, UT; Kelly (Laurie) Burt of Poway, CA, Denise (David) Paul, of St. George, UT, Kim (Elizabeth) Burt of Salt Lake City, Kris (Suzanne) Burt of Woods Cross, UT; step daughter-in-law, Melanie (Dale) Crowe of Sandy, UT. She is also survived by many grandchildren and step-grandchildren; siblings, Evan Winslow (Marie) Lee of Salt Lake City; she was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, three infant children: Melvin Ballard Madsen, David William Madsen, Katherine Madsen, and one stepson, Kevin Verl Burt. Funeral services held on Friday, August 6, 2004, at the Winder West Stake Center, 4530 South 1250 East. Interment: Salt Lake City Cemetery.
