He was born in Preston, Idaho and raised in Salt Lake City where his father was a professor at the University of Utah (where all of the Robbins kids saw the campus as their playground). He attended Stewart School, East High School and the University of Utah with additional studies at the University of Colorado.
He served his country in the South East Asia Theatre which paved the way to a lifelong love of aviation. He married Jessie Lou in 1949 and the romance lasted all 64 years. His daughter Pam was a lucky recipient of his generous loving and adventuresome spirit, his reverence for life and his sense of possibility. He was a Renaissance man with skills in most anything he tried. His life passion for flight first began in the Army Air Corps, then Western Airlines, Flying Tigers line and finally the F.A.A. At the end of his career, he was qualified to fly everything from ultra lights to Mock Jets. He was the F.A.A. Jet expert for the Western United States, respected and befriended by Bill Lear, John Denver and Gene Searnan, (the last astronaut to walk on the moon). As an avocation he enjoyed the arts and was himself a sculptor of note. His Bust of Kennedy is currently on display in the Salt Lake County offices permanent collection. Both he and Jessie Lou traveled the world together and collected amazing art together, they planted beautiful gardens together.
They engendered hope in others that true love transcends life's obstacles and adversity.
Blaine is preceded in death by his parents; his brother; Clayton Robbins. Jessie Lou's parents; Vilate and Leland Lewis.
He is survived by his sweet heart; Jessie Lou, daughter; Pam March (John), his granddaughter; Lindsay Larsen (Tom), and 4 great grandsons, sister; Jolayne Bowen and numerous nieces and nephews.
