Thomas Albert Moede, 93, Prescott Valley, Ariz., died Monday, June 25, 2012.

He was born May 21, 1919, in Windom, Minn. He spent his childhood and teen years growing up with seven siblings and was active in the community as a young man.

He graduated from Windom High School in 1937, where he was a star athlete.

He married Rosellen Fast on July 27, 1939, at the local Episcopal Church. He worked as a journeyman plumber for 50-plus years, primarily in Minnesota and Arizona. He was a member of the AFLCIO Plumbers Local 469 from 1958 to present. In Austin, Minn., he served as an officer of the local AFLCIO chapter. He served in World War II as a Shipfitter 3c USNR and was honorably discharged in April 1946.

He lived in Phoenix, Ariz., from 1958 to 1983, moving to the Prescott area in 1983, where he remained until his death.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting and woodwork. He was an avid gardener known for the rose garden he dedicated to his wife, Rose.

Survivors include his children, Thomas P. Moede of Welches, Ore. and Terry K. Moede of Culver City, Calif.; and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife in 1995, and his siblings.

Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice or Good Samaritan Society Prescott Valley. The Visitation services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 28, 2012, at Sunrise Funeral Home in Prescott Valley, Ariz.

The inurnment will follow at the Heritage Cemetery in Prescott Valley on Friday June 26, at noon.
