MUNCIE--Ruth S. Hannon, 92, of Muncie, IN, died Tuesday, February 17, 2009 at Elmcroft of Muncie, HLV.
Ruth was born on February 29, 1916 in Muncie, IN, the daughter of Samuel and Ethalinda (Mahoney) Keys. She graduated from Muncie High School. On June 21, 1934 she married Joseph Hannon.
Ruth was a homemaker and loved her family very much. She was also a member of Jackson Park Baptist Church, was an active member of the Senior Citizens Center of Muncie, and also enjoyed playing euchre in the community clubs.
Surviving relatives include one son, William M. Hannon (wife-Phyllis), New Castle; one daughter, Marica Amburn (husband-Robert) of Muncie, IN; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to The State of the Heart Hospice as well as the Elmcroft staff.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Joseph W. Hannon; one son, Ronald Hannon; two daughters, Conna Cook and Saundra Skinner; five sisters, and two brothers.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 20, 2009 at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 North State Road 3, Muncie, IN. Pastor Steven Dugger will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie. Visitation will be Thursday February 19, 2009 from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
