Ross Bryant, age 92, of Emerson, Iowa passed away Sunday, November 30, 2003 at the Good Samaritan Care Center in Red Oak after an extended illness. Ross Henry Bryant was born June 19, 1911 in Montgomery County, Iowa near Stanton the son of Eugene and Pearl (Comstock) Bryant. He graduated from the Strahan High School and started farming. He was united in marriage to Mildred Hillyer on February 14, 1934 in Pacific Junction, Iowa. They farmed all of their lives in Mills County, Iowa. Ross and Mildred retired and moved to Emerson, Iowa in 1984. Mildred preceded Ross in death on July 21, 1986. Ross moved to the Good Samaritan Care Center in 1998.
Ross was preceded in death by his parents; wife: Mildred; 2 brothers: Clarence and Wayne; infant brother: LeRoy; and infant sister: Helen.
He is survived by his son: Larry Bryant of Cincinnatti, Ohio; daughter: Mary Ann Price and husband Russ of Reeds Port, Oregon; 4 grandchildren: Jennifer Roeder of Durango, Colorado; Stephanie Henderson and husband Rod of Apex, North Carolina; David Turner of Fairfax, Virginia; and Dawn Bell and husband Willis of Spanaway, Washington; great grandchildren: Caitlan, Christopher, Jacklyn, Jonathan, Shannon, and Brandon; 3 sisters: Gladys Lorimor of Shenandoah, Iowa; Mae Miller of Red Oak, Iowa; and Dorothy Siegfried and husband Arnold of Loveland, Colorado; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held 10 AM Friday, December 5, 2003 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel with Rev. Perry Bishop officiating. Burial will be in the Malvern, Iowa Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 7-8 PM Thursday, December 4, 2003 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel.
