Mrs. Irene Mary Aho of Medicine Hat, beloved wife of the late Mr. Herb Aho, passed away on Friday, June 22, 2012 at the age of 70 years. Irene leaves to cherish her memory two children, Dawn (Mike) of Medicine Hat and their children, Victoria and Alexander, and Craig (Kelli) of Calgary and their children, Samuel and Addyson; one brother, Ron (Margaret) Ondik; two sisters-in-law, Margaret Kiviharju and Doreen (Vern) Lindstrom; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, Irene was predeceased by her parents, John and Annie Ondik; her mother and father-in-law, John and Mamie Aho; three brothers, Raymond, John, and Edward; and one brother-in-law, Edwin.
Irene was born and raised on the farm in the Grove Park District of southeastern Saskatchewan. She met Herb at a dance, and they were married on July 23, 1960. They resided in Regina before eventually moving to Medicine Hat where they settled to raise their family.
Irene loved gardening, cooking and baking, and spoiling her grandchildren. She was very supportive of her husband, children, and grandchildren in everything they did and will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered.
The Funeral Service will be held in SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, #1 Dunmore Road SE, on Saturday, June 30, 2012 at 11am with Pastor Julianna Wehrfritz-Hanson and Pastor Loren Hosfield co-officiating. Interment will follow in the Family Plot at Saamis Prairie View Cemetery.
