Beverly was born July 28, 1941 on the family farm in Minneapolis, Kan. to
Thelma Louise and Ralph Harris. After graduating from Minneapolis High School, she married her high school sweetheart, Lawrence 'Larry' Boss on December 24, 1958. Larry's Navy career provided a whirlwind of adventure living in Virginia, California, the Philippines, and Australia. After twelve years of service, they moved to Kansas before settling in Iowa.
After Larry's unexpected death in 1981, she moved to Oklahoma where she lived the rest of her life and supported herself by working for Bell Telephone. In 1995, she married Sam Allen and resided with him until her death. No stranger to tragedy, she was working across the street from the Murrah Building when it was bombed.
She spent her retired life serving family members and friends who were sick.
Much of her time was devoted to learning how to live more healthfully and sharing that knowledge with others. She greatly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who appreciated her unique and quirky nature. Her other interests included reading and caring for her dogs, Ozzie and Jack. She was a devoted member of the Philadelphia Church of God.
In addition to Larry, Beverly is preceded in death by her parents, her son Aaron Boss, brother William Harris, and her son-in-law Donald Grubaugh.
