Lloyd was born on Jan. 19, 1922, in San Francisco to the parents Lloyd and Norma Porter. Lloyd attended schools in San Francisco. Lloyd served two terms for the U.S. military, first in the Army stationed in the Philippines and Korea where he received training as a dental technician. He was discharged and then enlisted in the U.S. Air Force where he became a pilot. Lloyd practiced his trade for over 50 years. He taught ceramic dentistry in the Bay Area, Santa Cruz and Southern California. He was an avid golfer and woodcarver and enjoyed flying. He married Nadine Ennis in 1961. He is preceded in death by a son, William Porter in 1997.
