Funeral of Mrs. Enos Buck
Funeral services for Mrs. Nevada Buck, who died Saturday at her home, were held Tuesday afternoon at the First Christian church. Rev. Mr. Franklin, of Hartford, conducted the services. Interment was in Maplewood cemetery. The pallbearers were N. Brown, W.A. Smith, George Miller, W.S. Williamson, John Gregory and Peter Hines.
Mrs. Buck's maiden name was Nevada Carney. She was born in Emporia November 22, 1857, the year the town was founded. Her parents were among the earliest settlers of Lyon county, and she was the fourth girl born in the county. She was married to Enos Buck, of Emporia, December 3, 1884.
Mrs. Buck is survived by Mr. Buck and five children, W.M. Buck, Mrs. Fannie Turner, Mrs. Bernice Owen, Mrs. Clellah Nichols, of Emporia; and Melvin Buck, of Elsie, Mich. A sister, Mrs. Susan Freshwater; and a brother, G.A. Carney, of Emporia, also survive.
Mrs. Buck was a member of the First Christian church.
