LG was born in Asheville on January 26, 1928. He worked as a foreman for the Orange County School District for over 25 years.
He loved his family, hunting for squirrels and Southern Gospel Music.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Willie Cody of Orlando, Fla.; sons, Larry Cody and wife Aida of Denver, NC, and Gary Cody and wife Debbie of Danbury; and three grandchildren, Logan, Lisa and Joey.
His graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 2, 2012, at Long's Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery, with Rev. Troy Rogers officiating.
