"Mrs. Caroline Wilkins, relict of Edwin Wilkins, passed from this life Saturday evening at the home of her youngest daughter, Mrs. Rhoda Wakerly, in Napa. Deceased was 85 years of age on June 23rd and had been confined to her bed over three years. Deceased was the mother of nine children, two having preceded her to the grave. The following survive: Mrs. Jennie McCune, Woodland. Mrs. Lizzie Strong, Napa, Mrs. Rachel York, Templeton, Mrs. Rhoda Wakerly, Napa, Charles Wilkins, Rutherford, Leslie and Jason Wilkins, Napa. There are twenty grandchildren and eight great grandchildren left to mourn her loss. The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock with Rev. H. C. Shropshire, of the Christian chulrch, officiating. The remains were laid to rest under a mound of flowers in the family plot in Yountville cemetery. The following friends of the family were pallbearers: Edward Hogan, Timothy Downey, William Smyth, Raymond Smith, Henry Tiedeman and William Nunn."
