Mary is buried in a plot owned by my 2nd great grandfather, Harmon R. Smith. He bought the plot the year she died, in 1872. I suspect she is his sister. I have recently (January 2015) found that Harmon's niece, Mary Shrilla Robbins, was living with Harmon in Chautauqua in 1850 and 1855. In 1850, she is living with her mother and father, Lyman and Mary, in Wisconsin. Lyman, Mary Shrilla, and her siblings Edwin and Diantha are all buried together in Oak Woods in Chicago. So, I am fairly sure that Mary Robbins is indeed Harmon's sister. I still do not know why she is buried separately from her spouse and children. Harmon Smith's headstone is in the center. There is no headstone for Mary, nor for Harmon's wife, Sarah Perkins Smith. The death report says that she died on February 22 of heart congestion. She lived at 380 W. Madison Street, Chicago.
