There were three children from this union. Ethel, Clifford and Juanita Johnson.
Charles was a son of James Thomas Johnson and Alice E. Howerton.

Charles Edward Johnson, resident of the community for 45 years died Aug 4. With the passing of C.E. Johnson, another long time resident of this community has gone. He knew this country in the early days. He lived, worked and helped build and develop it from the frontier. He saw a town rise up where once was but a prairie, with a few scattered shacks. He was widely known, numbered his friends by the hundred and his death thins again the ranks of those hardy souls who helped to give us the community as we enjoy it today.
Charles Edward Johnson was born in Clark County Illinois, August 8, 1872 and died at his home in Stafford Kansas, August 4,1935, lacking four days of being 63 years of age. He was united in Marriage with Nona Johnson at Pratt Kansas, June 21, 1894. To this union, were five children, two of whom preceeded him in death. He leaves to mourn his departure, his wife, one son, Clifford, of St Louis , two daughters, Mrs Ethel Wilhite of St Louis and Juanita of the home. Also, there remain one grandchild, Thomas Wilhite of St Louis and one brother , William Johnson of Stafford. Mr. Johnson united with the Christian Church about 20 years ago. Funeral services were held at the First Christian Church,Stafford, Kansas , at 10o'clock Tuesday morning, August 6, with Duncan Mac Farlane of the St John Christian Church, conducting. Interment at Stafford Cemetery
