Charles Edward Covert, 90, of St. Albans passed away Tuesday September 27, 2011 at his home. Born June 1, 1921 in Charleston, he was a son of the late Bernice and Beulah Starkey Covert.

He was also preceded in death by his wife, Kathryn Louise McDonald Covert.

He retired with 42 years of service from Union Carbide Corp. He attended Washington Street Church of Christ, St. Albans, the Washington Masonic Lodge #58 A.F. & A.M., St. Albans. He was a United States Coast Guard combat veteran of WWII.

He is survived by
daughter and son-in-law, Karen Louise and James Douglas Westfall of New Albany, IN;
sons and daughters-in-law, Charles William "Buddy" Covert and Nancy Anne Braley of St. Albans and David Dewey and Marilyn Covert of Columbia, Missouri;
grandchildren, Chad Douglas Westfall, Amy Lynn Lygrisse, Charles William Covert, Jr., Courtney Jane Eastone, Kristy Lynn Covert Crim, Patrick David Covert and Ashley Louise Braley;
great grandchildren, Natalie Eastone, Jack Eastone, Sophie Eastone, Cody Hedrick Covert and Cade Michael Covert, Chloe Jane Crim and Jaley Anne Braley, Carter Herdman.

Funeral service at Bartlett-Chapman Funeral Home, St. Albans with Buddy Covert, other family members and Minister Eddie Cooper officiating. Burial with Masonic rites in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans.
