Palmer Gaultney
Succumbed Friday to Pneumonia.
Death is always sad, but the passing of those in the bloom of youth always casts a gloom over the community that is of greatest intensity. Thus it was in the death of Mr. Palmer Gaultney which occurred Thursday last at the home of his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Edgar Gaultney in Antioch community.
Pneumonia was attributed as the cause of his death although his health had not been the best for some time.
Mr. Gaultney had recently passed his 19th birthday and was one of the community’s most popular young men.
Besides his greatly beloved parents, Mr. Gaultney is survived by seven brothers and two sisters.
The last sad rites for this highly esteemed young man were conducted by Rev. J. H. Stanford at Antioch church and cemetery Friday afternoon at 3 o’clock. The pall bearers were Messrs. Lester Peterman, Alton and Clarence Montgomery, Joe and Paul Goodwin and Gordon Bloodworth with G. H. Goddard, funeral director, in charge of the remains.
