Gladys M. Abraham, age 86, Janesville, died Thursday Nov. 28, 1996, at there home. Funeral services were held on Monday, Dec 2, at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran church in Janesville, Rev. Larry Griffin officiated. Internment was in the Janesville cemetery following the service. Visitation was held Sunday, Dec 1, from 4:30 to 8 p.m. at the Arnoldt McRaith Funeral Home in Janesville, and on Monday morning one hour prior to services at the church. Casket bearers were: Wilbert Abraham, Wayne Abraham Jr., Wade Abraham, Wendell Abraham, Walter Quade and Dick Cummins.
Gladys Mabel, daughter of Emil G. and Henrietta (Quade) Abraham, was born on Oct. 22, 1910, in Elysian Twp., LeSueur County. She was a graduate of Janesville High School. She lived her entire life in the Janesville area. Over the years she had been employed with Midtex Co. in Mankato, E.F. Johnson Co., and the Busy Bee Café in Waseca, and Green Giant in Montgomery. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville. She was a devoted sister, a loving aunt and so lived as to merit the love and respect of all who knew her.
She is survived by one brother, Wayne L. Abraham of Janesville; four nephews, Wilbert "Willie" Abraham and Wayne "Chick" Abraham, Jr., both of Janesville, Wade "Barney" Abraham of Hollandale, and Wendell "Doc" Abraham and his wife Helene of Milaca; one niece in law, Peggy Reed and her husband Tom Reed of Janesville; 10 great nieces and nephews; and 11 great great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Harry; one sister in law, Mildred; and one great great nephew.
