Adeline Aloha (Katie) Kresge, 82, of Cresco, passed away on Thursday morning, April 24, 2008 at Palmerton Hospital with her beloved daughter and son-in-law at her side. She was the wife of the late Carl R. Kresge, who died July 30, 1978. They were married for 32 years.
Adeline was born on February 13, 1926 in Bethlehem to the late Florence (Rowe) Neyhart.
She retired from the custodial department of Pocono Mountain High School in 1986, after many years of service. She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Swiftwater for many years and also taught the nursery class for several years. In her leisure time, she loved doing word searches and embroidery.
For the past ten years, Adeline resided with her loving and devoted daughter, Mary Ann and son-in-law, Gordon Hughes, whom she loved as a son. She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Tom and Ida Neyhart of Cresco; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Neyhart of Rhode Island; many nieces, nephews, cousins, great nieces and great nephews; all of whom she loved and who all loved her. Her namesake and great great niece, Aloha Adeline Woodrow was born in Florida. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Keith Neyhart.
