She was a member, and leader, of Melrose Baptist Church since 1925, and was the former owner of Colonial Beauty Shoppe, Inc.
Mrs. Adams was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Richard J. Adams, and a sister, Mrs. Eliza Caroline Hodges.
Georgia is survived by her son, Richard Edward "Ed" Adams, of Greenville, N.C.; and grandchildren, Shelly A. Lide, of Matthews, N.C., Richard E. Adams, Jr., of Flower Mound, Texas and Kirk Adams, of York, S.C. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Anna, Jim, Eddie, Meghan, and Alex Adams, Michelle and Stephanie Lide. Surviving her also are two sisters, Mrs. Jessyee Ramsey, of Roanoke, and Mrs. Dixie Tucker, of Vinton.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Melrose Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Sprouse officiating.
Interment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends today from 2 to 3 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Oakey's North Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Melrose Baptist Church Building Fund.
