MISHAWAKA - Charles A. Marks Jr., 91, passed away on Saturday, June 30th, in Miller's Merry Manor, Wakarusa. Charles was born on June 23, 1921, in Wakarusa, to Charles and Edna (Pletcher) Marks. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Connie O'Keefe; two sisters, Wilma Chester and Lorene Ver Berkmoes; and two brothers, Donald and Richard Marks. On December 5, 1941, in Osceola, he married the former LaFern Moltz, who preceded him in death on January 6, 2005. Surviving are a daughter, Barbara (Richard) Bortone of South Bend; a son, Randall (Sandra) Marks of Sarasota, FL; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Jean Grames of Godfrey, IL, and Kathleen Lyerla of Herrin, IL. Charles was a sales rep for Prudential Insurance for 30 years before he retired in 1981. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and was a WW II Navy veteran. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 5th, at 9:30 a.m. in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka, with Rev. Larry Whitehead officiating.
