Mrs. Larence W. Davis passed away at her home on East Union street Thursday, February 12, 1948, after a brief illness.
Fern Mason, daughter of Grant Mason and Ella Cathart Mason, was born at Gosport, Iowa, May 23, 1889. She received her education in the public schools and Knoxville high school, and on June 26, 1907, she was united in marriage with Larence W. Davis at Oskaloosa, Ia. they came to the farm in Hazel Green township in March 1944, from Wyoming, Iowa. She had been a resident in Manchester for three years.
Funeral services were held at the Golden Congregational church Saturday afternoon, with Rev. Harold Wisner in charge. Burial was made in the Golden cemetery.
Mrs. Davis is survived by the husband, and six children--Ingle K., of Cedar Rapids; Mrs. Allen Kaufman, of Manchester; L. Kent, of Chow Chilla, Calif.; Mrs. Royden White, Edgewood; Mrs. James r. Shover, Delhi; Mrs. Herbert Hartman, of Manchester. She also leaves nine grandchildren and her stepfather. Preceding her in death were her parents, two daughters, Mrs. John Wilson, and a daughter in infancy, also one brother, A. Mason.
Mrs. Davis had been a member of the Golden Congregational church for many years. She was well known by a large circle of friends and many will learn with regret of her passing. Sincere sympathy is felt for the husband and children in their sorrow.
